Overleaf Finalist Impact Awards 2022

We're excited to announce that Overleaf has been named a finalist in the 6th Digital Leaders Impact Awards 2022 after being shortlisted into the top 3 in the Education category!

The Digital Leaders Impact Awards celebrate the digital technology innovations that improve people’s lives and the world around us. The awards are open to any person, business, government or non-profit creating or delivering digital products or services for positive social impact.

The awards are split into 12 categories, all falling under one of three main themes: People, Society and Business, and the Individual Impact Award. The Education category falls under People and is for an organisation, service or initiative leveraging technology to transform both teaching and learning in schools, colleges and universities.

With just under 500 entries this year alone, the competition was fierce, so we're extra thrilled that Overleaf is being recognized as a powerful tool to transform collaborative authoring and the way the research community works together as a whole!

“We recently celebrated our ninth anniversary as a company, and in that time over nine million students, researchers, teachers and faculty have used Overleaf to write up their work. It’s fantastic to be recognized by the Impact Awards for our part in transforming scientific and collaborative writing and teaching. We see more and more students using Overleaf each year, from a wide range of disciplines, and are committed to continuing to lower the barriers to entry for technical and professional writing.” — Dr. John Hammersley, Overleaf co-founder and CEO

To decide the final winner in each category, Digital Leaders will be hosting a judging day on the 22nd of February in their virtual space, #DigiLounge, where each finalist will have a chance to pitch to the judging panel.

The Digital Leaders Impact Awards is also hosting a People's Choice Award, recognizing the most popular of this year’s finalists, with a public vote. Voting is open until the 9th of March.

The winners of each category, along with the People's Choice Award, will be announced as part of the Impact Awards Ceremony on the 10th of March at the Ministry of Sound in London.
